Hot Chip play Sonar & Bestival

Hot Chip have announced two more summer festival dates. They are due to play at Sonar in Barcelona, headlining the outdoor stage on Saturday 16th June. Ticket and line up information is available here.

They have also been confirmed to play a headline slow at Bestival on the Isle of Wight this September. The band will play on the Big Top on Thursday 6th September – please note music at the festival starts a day early this year! Tickets are available here.

NEW BUILD are a new band featuring Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin. Al is also known for his time playing guitar for LCD Soundsystem.

They have put together a 7 piece live band featuring synths, drums, guitars, percussion, lots of singing, and general making of loud noises!

And they are taking it on the road this Spring to mark the release of their first ever album, visiting GLASGOW, LEEDS, MANCHESTER, LONDON, BRIGHTON, NEW YORK, SXSW, AMSTERDAM, BRUSSELS, PARIS, BERLIN, COLOGNE, COPENHAGEN & STOCKHOLM!

There will be some very cool support acts along the way, including BANG & OLUFSEN, a new duo which comprises ALEXIS TAYLOR and ROB SMOUGHTON (GROVESNOR).

And for the LONDON show there are even more very special guests!

The date is Friday March 9th, the venue is Corsica Studios in London.

New Build will be playing live earlier in the evening, and the show will be followed by a club night until 4am.

Now featuring the supreme DJ-ing talents of Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell (The 2 Bears), Dominik Eulberg and Hannah Holland!

The party is part of the first New Build tour in the UK, Europe and the US. It is to mark the release of the first New Build album “Yesterday Was Lived And Lost”.

New Build – debut album and gig details

New Build, a new band featuring Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin, are pleased to announce the imminent release of their first album Yesterday Was Lived And Lost.

The 12 track album will be released on digital, CD and heavyweight vinyl format on March 5th 2012. Yesterday Was Lived And Lost will be the third release on New Build’s own fledgling imprint Lanark Recordings.

The CD comes with two beautiful postcard sized prints by the artists Bevis Martin and Charlie Youle, who created the artwork for the release. The vinyl version features an exclusive bonus track and a link to download high quality digital files.

Alexis plays four gigs with Justus Köhncke

Justus Köhncke and Alexis Taylor are playing a quartet of European dates together in February and March. The pair first collaborated together on the song Sorry, a vocal re-working by Alexis of Justus’s classic Parage, performed live together in Germany on the Hot Chip One Life Stand tour, and later released on the Kitsuné Maison Compilation 10: The Fireworks Issue.

“Sing-jaying together at these 4 upcoming dates in Germany, Denmark and Norway, they perform originals and unique cover versions, and spin house and techno, disco and garage discs. The modern day John and Harry welcome you on their future lost weekends.”
