Hot Chip have announced the support acts for the forthcoming trio of UK gigs. They are:

June 1oth Sheffield, Leadmill The 2 Bears (live)

June 11th Cambridge, Junction Peter Um (live), the 2 Bears (DJing before and after support)

June 13th London, Heaven Factory Floor (live)

A few tickets are still available for Sheffield and Cambridge here.

Last night, Hot Chip performed Night And Day on Later. They will also feature on the longer Friday night version of the show (which goes out on BBC2 at 11.50pm). Set the recorder!

Night And Day - the first single from Hot Chip‘s forthcoming LP, In Our Heads - is released on June 4th. The single is a piece of classic Hot Chip weird-ass superfunk disco, driven by a menacing yet supremely danceable rubberized bassline.

It’s the kind of sound a young Prince would have been making had he grown up just south of the Thames.

It’s Zapp, not Zappa.

The single will be available on 12” and via digital download and will comes with a remix from the mighty 2 Bears featuring Trim as well as an exclusive b-side track entitled Jelly Babies.

Two New Festival Shows Added

In addition to the previously announced shows, Hot Chip will be playing at the Hostess Club Weekender at Ebisu Garden Hall, Tokyo, Japan on 23rd June (with the Cribs, Mystery Jets, Gaz Coombes and Cloud Nothings)

and

Pukkelpop in Hasselt, Belgium on Thursday 16th August (with Bjork, Mark Lanegan, Flying Lotus and the Horrors).

Tickets are available from the usual outlets.

Hot Chip have announced three UK club shows in June with dates in Sheffield, Cambridge and at London’s Heaven on June 13th. Yesterday, the band revealed a YouTube clip featuring a brand new track entitled Flutes. It’s the first track to be heard from their highly anticipated fifth album, In Our Heads (released on June 11^th in the UK, June 12^th in the US.) A seven minute roofless, rushing anthem-in-waiting, Flutes is a perfect introduction to the new album and is currently making its way into the more discerning DJs’ boxes via white label 12”.
